Come on in. The water’s fine! We have a variety of swimming programs here at the YMCA. We can help you master a skill, provide training tips for competition or overcome any fears you may have with the water.

The YMCA also offers Birthday Pool Parties! There is the option of having a party during open swim times or having the pool all to yourself with a private pool party.

Pool Rules

General Pool Rules

  • No one is permitted in the pool without a lifeguard on duty

  • Swimsuits are required

  • All swimmers must shower off before entering the water

  • Children ages 6 and under must have an adult in the water with them actively watching them

  • Non-swimmers must stay in shallow water no deeper than their armpits

  • Non-swimmers are permitted to wear a Coast Guard Guard-approved lifejacket

  • No flotation devices are permitted other than Coast Guard Guard-approved lifejackets

  • No street shoes permitted on the deck

  • No extended breath holding

  • No running

  • No flips, twists or jumping backwards into the pool

  • Please keep your hands to yourselves

  • No food/drink/gum allowed in the water. 

  • No glass allowed on the pool deck

  • People with open sores or infections are not permitted in the pool. 

  • No pets 

  • No playing or jumping off steps

  • No shoulder riding

  • No dunking, splashing, spitting, or horseplay

  • No profanity, vulgar remarks, or improper behavior

  • No Mermaid Tails/Fins

Additional Rules for Garton Pool

  • No diving

  • Do not touch the volleyball net

Additional Rules for Verhulst Pool

  • Children must demonstrate the ability to swim one length of front crawl to be permitted on the deep side of the pool. 

  • Use of starting blocks is only permitted under the guidance of swim instructors or coaches

  • Diving only permitted if it is 9 feet deep or more

  • Sharing lanes is expected of all lap swimmer when busy
