Mighty Mites 

For children from 5k to 2nd grade. Participation, FUNdamentals, skill development and sportsmanship are the focus of this program. Kids are put on teams based on their grade/school. Each week, volunteer coaches will spend half the class working on skills. Games will be played following. Sports options are listed below:

 

 

 

 

COED T-BALL

Participants will need a baseball glove, but not required. Each week, a volunteer coach will spend the first half of the class working on skills, second half will be spent playing a modified baseball game.

Coach Pitch Baseball

1st-2nd grade

This baseball program is for children who have played t-ball and can hit without a batting tee. Each week, there will be a short practice followed by a coach pitch baseball game.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Ready? Set? Hike! Let’s play flag football! This program includes volunteer-led practices, a skills clinic, modified games, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Participants will receive a YMCA given team shirt, and will need a good pair of athletic shoes.

BASKETBALL

Volunteer coaches will spend the first 20-25 minutes working with players on basketball skills. Games will be played during the last 35-40 minutes. The format includes lowered rim height, coaches on the court and player substitution every 4 minutes.

1st and 2nd Grade Basketball League

The emphasis of these leagues is on sportsmanship, skill development, teamwork and equal participation. The format includes lowered rim height, coaches on the court and player substitutions every 4 minutes. The 1st grade teams will play in coed league. The 2nd grade teams will be separated by boys and girls in their own leagues. Teams will be formed by community. A one hour practice will be held on the first three Saturdays of the season. With an additional one hour practice time offered during the week. Games will start with a short warm –up followed by four 8-minute quarters

TENNIS

If you have never picked up a tennis racquet or are a beginner tennis lover this program is for you! Each week we will focus on tennis fundamentals of: forehand swing, backhand swing, volley, and serve. We will learn a different skill each week!

GOLF

This program is for beginner golfers. Each week we will focus on the golf fundamentals of chipping, pitching, and full swing. Through different drills and fun mini golf games we will learn a new skill each week.

INDOOR SOCCER

Volunteer coaches will spend the first 20-25 minutes working with players on soccer skills. Games will be played the last 35-40 minutes of the class. Participants learn how to play the different positions of soccer by switching every 4-5 minutes.

Fall and Spring “U-6” Youth Soccer

Ages 4-Kindergarten

Your child will learn the fundamentals of soccer with their friends and classmates. Volunteer coaches lead a practice weekly, with an emphasis on fun and learning the sport of soccer.
